Inclement Weather Policy (For HRM Fields)

When playing on HRM fields such as the South Commons, our inclement weather policy is very simple: Games are canceled whenever HRM closes their fields. This info can be found on the field conditions page of the HRM website.

While we
do out best to inform players & captains about field closures, they can sometimes be unexpected, hence captains are ultimately responsible for checking the website before any games and informing their players of field conditions.

Halifax PLAYS also cannot guarantee that canceled games will/ can be rescheduled.

Further, even if fields are open, we advise that safety is a top priority in the league, and captains should cancel or end a game if field conditions could compromise the safety of players (e.g. after heavy rain or during lighting strikes). As long as there is just reason for a cancellation, no team will be charged with a forfeit.

Please also keep in mind that Halifax PLAYS is not liable for injuries that result from a player choosing to play in bad conditions, and it bears no responsibility- financial or otherwise- for game cancellations due to inclement weather.
